Chardonnay bud development 4-25-11 page 1


Well here it is another week of cold rainy weather and not much to show except a little swelling of the first bud shown on the left. I changed the back ground for the bud shots so you can also see the development of our flower garden with part of the vineyard in the background behind the picnic area. The photo on the right shows one of the buds in the photo on the left.

Chardonnay fro bud break to harvest


Today I took a photo of the same two spurs showing a slight increase in the size of the buds. We have had lttle warm weather so there is not much activity in the plants.This is a photo of the buds as of 4-18-11

Chardonnay from bud break to harvest


We Sierra Vista watch our vines grow yearly from the swelling of the bud on a cane to the bud turning to leaves and a new cane growing to flowering if the potential grape cluster to verasion, ripening, to harvest. This year I will try to document these events once a week on Monday morning. I will photograph the same buds weekly so you can watch them grow.
